Professional profile
Dr Tang qualified at the University of Edinburgh, with subsequent broad postgraduate gastroenterology and hepatology specialist training in London at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital and University College Hospital. He completed training at the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital.
He pursued sub-specialty training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998-1999), and now provides a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service, as well as being active in endoscopy training in his role as both Educational and Clinical Trainee Supervisor in general gastroenterology. He is examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB and CMT interviewer at London Deanery.
Dr Tang spent a further period of extended research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London (2000-2003), completing his MD thesis in hepatitis/liver disease, presenting and publishing widely in this field. He developed lever services at BCF Trust, and runs a broad liver and pancreatobiliary service with a dedicated hepatitis treatment clinic.
He is an accredited specialist with a large NHS and private practice devoted to the full range of gastroenterology including IBS, IBD, hepatology, pancreatobiliary disease, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

Special Clinical Interests: Gastrointestinal endoscopy, hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, dyspepsia, anaemia, diarrhoea/IBD, IBS, dyspepsia, abnormal LFT evaluation, pancreatobiliary disorders, ERCP, hepatitis B and C, dyspepsia, altered bowel habit,pancreato-biliary disease, rectal bleeding and colorectal cancer screening.
